Cross Country with a great start to their season

These past two weekends have been really good to both our girls and boys cross country teams. Two weekends ago, our teams were at the Panda Classic and finished 1st for both the boys and girls teams.

After last week’s big wins, the cross country team faced a daunting challenge at this weekend’s STXXC Tiger Run, held at Champions Park in Louisville. Many of the best teams in Kentucky and Indiana were there. The Girls’ Varsity squad placed an impressive 4th out of 18 teams, with Billie Phemister and Sophia Anderson finishing in the top five out of 154 girls. The Varsity boys finished a strong 8th out of 22 teams and were led by Wesley Buck and Hayden White. The JV teams were also stellar, with Emma Turbek and Norah Detjen leading the JV girls, while Rhett Boelscher and Drew Wilson were our top JV boy finishers. 25 of our runners set new personal records at this meet! Next up for the team is the always challenging Bourbon County Colonel Charge on September 13th in Paris.
